After obtaining his Bachelor of Business Administration, Business Management in 2005 and his Master of Business Administration, Finance in 2007, Matt began his career as a valuation analyst, performing hundreds of appraisals for privately held entities of varying sizes, industries, and geographic locations. He has appraised interests including common and preferred stocks, stock options, restricted stock, general and limited partnership interests, member interests of limited liability companies, debt instruments, and intangible assets.

Matt has also completed valuations of closely held or limited market interests for the purposes of corporate planning, estate taxes, gifts of stock or equity interests, succession planning, sale and/or acquisition, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP) or other profit-sharing plan transactions, buy-sell agreements and litigated matters (stockholder disputes).

In addition, Matt has had dealings with IRS representatives on a conference level, including the fielding of questions regarding gift tax and estate tax valuations from agents, as well as discussions with IRS attorneys. He is also accredited in Business Valuation by the American Society of Appraisers and is dedicated to continuing his professional education through various appraisal industry organizations.
