Corporate Finance (M&A) Copy Editor – Remote
We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Finance (M&A) Copy Editor to join our remote team and work closely with our founder, Jacob Orosz, and managing editor, Melanie Fairhurst. In this role, you will support Jacob by editing and refining high-level content related to lower-middle market business transactions, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all written materials.

Overview
You will work directly with our founder and managing editor on copy editing the original content we create. Our managing editor will then review the content and your edits. The content topics relate to the technical aspects of buying and selling businesses, such as valuation, taxation, legal, negotiations, etc.

About the Job
Key Responsibilities
- Your primary responsibility will be to work directly with our company owner and managing editor as a copy editor. They will draft the initial content, which you will review and copy edit—ranging from light edits to more in-depth revisions, depending on the material. After your edit, they will revise the content do a final review.
Hours and Availability
- Work Hours: This is a part-time role based in European business hours with occasional meetings during US (Eastern Time) business hours.
- Availability: Must be available for 10 to 25 hours per week. You will attend regular unscheduled MS Teams calls. Beyond this, you can edit the content during your preferred schedule. This position entails frequent communication with our founder and managing editor, so you must be readily available and flexible. We prefer you have few conflicting career-related obligations that may interfere with our ability to communicate regularly.
Key Qualifications
- Copy Editing: Must have at least five years of copy editing experience.
- AP Stylebook: Knowledge of the AP Stylebook style guide.
- Tech-Savvy: MS Teams, Google Docs.
- Business Knowledge: Must have significant business, corporate finance, or M&A knowledge.
- Home Office: Must have a noise-canceling headset and reliable high-speed internet access.
- MS Teams: Must be comfortable doing a Teams voice chat on a regular basis. The majority of the content requires regular high-level conversations. All of these conversations will occur during European or US business hours on an MS Teams voice call.
