All exit scenarios can be broadly categorized into three groups:

• Involuntary: Includes involuntary exits, such as death, divorce, or disability
• Inside: The buyer comes from within your company or family
• Outside: The buyer comes from outside of your company or family

In addition to these three exit options, you can also sell a portion of your business. This can either be an inside sale or an outside sale.
